GSSNet / Sage install Statewide CAP EAS origination and distribution system in Alabama

Global Security Systems has teamed with Sage Alerting Systems to provide an affordable, end-to-end CAP-EAS origination and delivery solution to meet the new FCC rules.

GSS and Sage strategy is to provide quality hardware, top notch support, design assistance, custom software when necessary, to users who need to take alerts the last mile from the source or transport systems into the broadcast sector.

Recent example is the State of Washington, update of a Sage ENDEC-based system originally deployed in 1997-1999 to a CAP-based system. This includes interface to pre-FEMA versions of CAP 1.1 as well as the CAP 1.2 and the IPAWS 1.0 profile.

This example and others such as special features for nuclear power plant warning, the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) in Washington State, and the US Primary Entry Point system, were all accomplished using the standard Sage hardware platform. This commercial off the shelf (COTS) approach to implementing advanced alert systems provides a cost effective solution.

GSSNet is used in Federal, Country and State origination environments, where EAS messages are originated at the start of the EAS relay chains. The Sage ENDEC is supported by nearly every 3rd party provider of EAS peripheral equipment, loggers, remote controls, automation systems, video character generators, RDS systems, and Ibiquity's HD Radio text standard (Active Radio).
